Manchester United FC have agreed to sign promising winger Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace FC, with the 20-year-old set to link up with his new club in July.
Zaha has scored 12 goals in 110 league appearances for Championship side Palace and featured five times for England Under-21s as they qualified for this summer's UEFA European U21 Championship in Israel. The forward, who came through the youth academy at the south London outfit, made his senior international debut as a substitute in a November friendly against Sweden.
"I am delighted to be joining Manchester United," said Zaha. "I would like to thank the owners at Palace for making the move possible; however, my focus for the next five months will be solely on Crystal Palace. I have been at Palace for more than ten years, I will always love the club and I want to help get them get back into the Premier League, particularly for the fans who have always been so good to me."
Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish added: "This a great deal for the club and the player. We would like to thank Wilf for all he has done for the club and we all wish him well when he joins Manchester United in the summer. It was essential to Wilf and ourselves that he stayed at Palace for the remainder of this season to help the club with its main aim of promotion to the Premier League."
Sir Alex Ferguson's men take on Real Madrid CF in the round of 16. The first leg is at the Santiago Bernabéu on 13 February before the Old Trafford return on 5 March.
