UEFA Champions League statistics
• The Rossoneri have scored 399 goals in the European Cup.
• Milan struck seven times in the group stage, the joint-lowest with Galatasaray AŞ of any side to reach the last 16.
• At 19 years and 342 days, Stephan El Shaarawy became Milan's youngest UEFA Champions League goalscorer when he found the net against FC Zenit St Petersburg on matchday two.
• Milan have collected 17 yellow cards, more than any other team in the round of 16.
• Philippe Mexès is available after serving a one-game ban on matchday six; Daniele Bonera, Mathieu Flamini and Riccardo Montolivo will incur a suspension with their next bookings.

• Muntari picked up a knee injury playing beach football while on holiday last summer that kept him out until December.
• Milan signed Mario Balotelli from Manchester City FC in January but the Italy striker is ineligible for this competition.
• The Rossoneri also brought in defender Cristian Zaccardo from Parma and Polish Under-21 international Bartosz Salamon from Brescia Calcio.

• Milan have made steady progress up the Serie A table since the end of the group stage, a run of seven wins in ten league outings lifting Massimiliano Allegri's side into the top five – they were 13th in mid-November. There has not been more than a goal in it in each of their eight outings in 2013.
• The Rossoneri lost 2-1 to Juventus in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on 9 January, but are unbeaten in the league in 2013, winning five and drawing two.
• Of the 55 goals Milan have scored this season in all competitions, 40 have come after half-time.
• El Shaarawy, a late withdrawal through injury ahead of Friday's 2-1 win against Parma FC, has scored 22 goals in 37 games for club and country this term.
• Bonera returned from nearly three months out with a thigh injury on 3 February.
• Nigel de Jong is likely to miss the rest of the season after rupturing his left Achilles tendon in December.

• Despite sitting out matchday six, Xavi Hernández completed 663 passes in the group stage, over 250 more than any other player. He completed 92% of the passes he attempted.
• Lionel Messi has scored 56 UEFA Champions League goals, level with Ruud van Nistelrooy and behind only Raúl González (71).
• Barcelona enjoyed 71% of possession in the group stage, completing 4,334 of their 5,078 attempted passes with an 85% success rate – all higher than any other side.
• The Catalan giants also committed fewer fouls (46) than any other team in the group stage.
• Adriano, Alex Song, Javier Mascherano and Pedro Rodríguez's next bookings will incur a suspension.

• Barcelona have built on their Liga lead since rounding off their group stage campaign, increasing a six-point advantage over second-placed Club Atlético de Madrid into double figures. They have not had it all their own way, however, as their unbeaten start to the top-flight campaign – 18 wins, one draw – ended on 19 January when Real Sociedad de Fútbol came from two down to triumph 3-2.
• Messi has scored in a record 14 consecutive Liga games for Barcelona, surpassing the previous mark of ten set by Mariano Martín (Barcelona, 1942/43-1943/44) and Ronaldo (Real Madrid CF, 1996/97).
• The Catalan giants have also advanced to the Copa de Rey semi-finals, where they are level at 1-1 with Real Madrid ahead of the second leg at the Camp Nou on 26 February.
• Adriano went off with a hamstring injury 29 minutes into Barcelona's 2-1 win at Granada CF on Saturday.
• Tito Vilanova underwent surgery and chemotherapy on a tumour in his saliva gland in December.
• Messi (until summer 2018), Carles Puyol, Xavi, Cristian Tello (all 2016) and José Pinto (2014) have signed contract extensions.
• Messi scored 91 goals for club and country in 2012, surpassing Gerd Müller's record for a calendar year of 86 set in 1972. He collected a record fourth FIFA Ballon d'Or in January, with Andrés Iniesta third in the voting and Xavi fourth.
• Puyol won his 100th cap on 6 February as Spain beat Uruguay 3-1 in Doha, the world and European champions' goals coming from Pedro (2) and Cesc Fàbregas.
• Barcelona had four players in the UEFA.com users' Team of the Year 2012 that was named in January: Gerard Piqué, Iniesta, Xavi and Messi. Iniesta was selected in midfield by almost three out of every four users who voted.
• Éric Abidal continues his recovery from a liver transplant carried out on 10 April 2012.
