Alba in doubt for Barcelona's PSG trip

Out of Spain's against France on Tuesday, Jordi Alba could also miss FC Barcelona's trip to face Paris Saint-Germain FC a week later with a hamstring injury.

Jordi Alba has emerged as a serious doubt for FC Barcelona's UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg trip to Paris Saint-Germain FC after suffering a hamstring strain while on international duty with Spain.

The 24-year-old full-back sustained the injury during Friday's 1-1 FIFA World Cup qualifying draw at home to Finland. Subsequent tests quickly ruled the former Valencia CF player out of La Roja's trip to face France on Tuesday, and it has since emerged that Alba will be out of action for between seven and ten days.

He therefore faces a race against time to feature away against PSG on 2 April. Barcelona are already without defenders Carles Puyol (knee) and Adriano (hamstring) for the last-eight tie.
