Beaten UEFA Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of winger Jakub Błaszczykowski, while allowing German Under-21 international Daniel Ginczek to join 1. FC Nürnberg on a permanent deal.

BVB and the 27-year old Błaszczykowski, who has hit 25 goals in 168 Bundesliga games, have agreed a new deal which will keep the Poland international at the club until summer 2018. "Kuba is an important cornerstone for our team thanks to his footballing skills and his character. His performances have been noticed all over Europe," said sporting director Michael Zorc.

"When my contract ends, I can look back on more than ten years at Dortmund. Such periods are not normal anymore in professional football. I am very, very proud that a top club like Borussia Dortmund puts this much trust in me," said the former Wisła Kraków man who arrived at the club in the summer of 2007.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old forward Ginczek has been snapped up by Nürnberg for an undisclosed fee, after scoring 18 goals during a loan spell at FC St Pauli last term.
