Benfica move for Partizan's Marković

UEFA Europa League finalists SL Benfica have signed 19-year-old Serbia winger Lazar Marković from FK Partizan on a contract that ties him to the club until summer 2018.

SL Benfica have signed Lazar Marković from FK Partizan on a contract that ties the Serbia winger to the Portuguese club until summer 2018.

The 19-year-old switches in an undisclosed deal having helping the Belgrade outfit capture a sixth consecutive championship this term, his second as a first-team regular. He feels it is time to move on, however.

"I want to be successful at Benfica and win titles," Marković, already an established senior international, said. "We are going to play in UEFA Champions League and I am very motivated. I can grow in the team. Benfica play a very attacking style of football and that matches my characteristics."
