The influx of Serbian internationals into SL Benfica has continued with the arrival of attacking midfielder Filip Djuričić from sc Heerenveen on a five-year contract.
Djuričić has moved for an undisclosed fee to the 2013 UEFA Europa League runners-up, who earlier this week announced the recruitment of the 21-year-old's compatriots Miralem Sulejmani (from AFC Ajax) and Lazar Marković (FK Partizan). The trio will link up with Serbia team-mate Nemanja Matić in Lisbon.
"I've known Matić since I was a boy because we played together from a young age," Djuričić told Benfica TV. "Matić told me I can adapt to Portugal and Portuguese football. That helped in my decision."
Djuričić, capped 11 times, scored 20 goals in 99 Dutch Eredivisie outings for Heerenveen following his transfer from FK Radnički Obrenovac in summer 2009.
