The latest issue of Champions Matchday looks ahead to what promises to be an incomparable 2013/14 UEFA Champions League campaign. With Manchester United FC, Manchester City FC and Chelsea FC all under new leadership this season, we analyse the prospects of David Moyes, Manuel Pellegrini and José Mourinho as they lead their new sides into Europe.

We also trace the rise of FC Bayern München's Wembley hero Arjen Robben, reflect on the glittering career of David Beckham as he hangs up his boots for good, and speak exclusively to Borussia Dortmund's midfield star İlkay Gündoğan and Real Madrid CF’s goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

The new edition also follows the qualifying round hopefuls as the long road to Lisbon 2014 starts in earnest – and features an interview with Jeff Strasser, the former FC Metz favourite who now coaches Luxembourger champions CS Fola Esch. Elsewhere, we discuss the traits needed to make it as a goalscorer with two of the game's greatest strikers, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Hernán Crespo; and recall FC Porto's remarkable UEFA Champions League triumph of 2004 under the guidance of the Special One.

Champions Matchday asked five of Europe's most influential football writers to choose their all-time UEFA Champions League hero. Franco Baresi, Andrés Iniesta, Paul Lambert, Lionel Messi and Zinédine Zidane are all up for consideration. You are invited to make your own selection on Twitter @ChampionsMag.

All this and more in the new Champions Matchday, on sale from 3 July.

Champions Matchday is available in digital versions on Apple Newsstand or Zinio, as well as in print.
