Olympique Lyonnais have announced that Lisandro is set to join al-Gharafa SC, just over a day after helping them through to the UEFA Champions League play-offs.
The decision was made after the former Argentina striker, 30, asked for a transfer for personal reasons earlier this summer, though the French side requested his services until the completion of the third qualifying round. Lisandro played all 180 minutes of the tie against Grasshopper Club, which concluded on Tuesday with a 2-0 aggregate win.
That brought an end to Lisandro's four-year spell with Lyon, where he arrived from FC Porto for a club record €24m in 2009. He scored at least ten Ligue 1 goals in every season at Stade de Gerland. The forward links up with another former French top-flight star in Nenê under Zico's leadership at Qatar-based al-Gharafa. Details of the move have not been disclosed.
