UEFA milestones and competition statistics
• Madrid are the tournament's ten-goal highest scorers, with Cristiano Ronaldo's five strikes making him the leading goalscorer. Ángel Di María leads the way in the assist stakes with three.

• Ronaldo was the 12-goal top scorer in the 2012/13 UEFA Champions League. He has found the net 24 times in his last 20 matches in the competition, registering 53 times in all.

• Jesé Rodríguez made his UEFA Champions League debut in the matchday two win against FC København.

General information
• Ronaldo, Madrid's fifth highest all-time scorer, has struck 16 goals in his last 11 outings for the club. He signed a three-year contract that ties him to Madrid until 2018 on 15 September.

• Carlo Ancelotti's seven-match unbeaten start as Madrid boss ended on 28 September with a 1-0 derby defeat at home to Club Atlético de Madrid.

• Gareth Bale sustained a left thigh strain while warming up for the Getafe CF game on 22 September, a problem that resurfaced in the defeat by Atlético. He returned as a substitute on Saturday, winning a late penalty that Ronaldo converted to seal a 2-0 win against Málaga CF.

• Xabi Alonso has not played since suffering a broken foot in August.

International duty
• There were 11 Madrid players called up for senior duty during the international break: Sami Khedira (Germany), Isco, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Álvaro Arbeloa (Spain), Fábio Coentrão, Ronaldo, Pepe (Portugal), Luka Modrić (Croatia), Marcelo (Brazil), Di María (Argentina).

• Khedira opened the scoring in the 3-0 win at home to the Republic of Ireland on 11 October that sealed Germany's FIFA World Cup place.

• Benzema ended his 16-month international goal drought as France defeated Australia 6-0 in a friendly and was on target again as Les Bleus concluded their qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win at home to Finland last Tuesday.

UEFA milestones and competition statistics
• Like last season, Juventus have collected two draws from their first two group stage games this term.

• Fernando Llorente made his UEFA Champions League debut on matchday two against Galatasaray AŞ. He played 34 UEFA Europa League games scoring 16 times for his former team Athletic Club.

• Juventus have attempted 65 crosses; more than any other team in the competition.

General information
• Juventus suffered a first defeat of the season on Sunday, conceding four times in the final 14 minutes to go down 4-2 at ACF Fiorentina. It was the first time they had shipped four goals in a game under Antonio Conte.

• The Italian champions had made it four Serie A wins in a row on 6 October with a 3-2 success against AC Milan.

• Llorente marked his first start for Juventus with the winning goal against Hellas Verona FC on 22 September.

• Juventus have scored in 21 successive Serie A encounters since a 1-0 loss to AS Roma on 16 February.

• Mirko Vučinić and Stephan Lichtsteiner have not played since suffering muscle injuries on matchday two. On 15 October Fabio Quagliarella suffered a thigh injury that is expected to keep him out for three weeks.

• Martín Cáceres has not played since suffering a knee injury while on international duty with Uruguay on 8 September. Simone Pepe has not played a competitive game since 17 November 2012 because of a thigh injury.

International duty
• Nine Juventus players were called up for senior duty during the international break: Gianluigi Buffon, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Claudio Marchisio, Andrea Pirlo (Italy), Paul Pogba (France), Kwadwo Asamoah (Ghana), Mauricio Isla, Arturo Vidal (Chile).

• On 11 October, Buffon became Italy's most capped player, surpassing Fabio Cannavaro with his 137th appearance in a 2-2 draw in Denmark.

• Vidal opened the scoring from the penalty spot in Chile's 3-3 draw against Colombia in FIFA World Cup qualifying.
