UEFA milestones and competition statistics
• OM have lost their last eight UEFA Champions League games, since a 1-0 home victory over FC Internazionale Milano on 22 February 2012.

• Marseille, like FC Viktoria Plzeň, have not yet picked up a point going into matchday six. Fifteen teams have previously ended a UEFA Champions League group stage without a point.

• Nicolas N'Koulou and Alaixys Romao are serving one-game bans; Dimitri Payet is a booking away from a suspension.

General information
• OM parted company with coach Élie Baup on Saturday, with sporting director José Anigo placed in temporary charge.

• OM have lost nine of their last 13 games and suffered their first home defeat by FC Nantes since 2002 on Friday.

• Rod Fanni, out since 22 October with an adductor problem, started against Nantes.

• Florian Thauvin has scored eight goals in 11 outings for club and country.

• Mathieu Valbuena has been ruled out until the new year after suffering a shoulder injury in a 1-0 defeat at LOSC Lille on 3 December. He had started every game for OM this season. André Ayew is out after suffering a twisted knee on international duty last month.

• OM beat FC Sochaux-Montbéliard 2-1 on 10 November to end a run of seven games without a win, including six defeats.

• OM lost 2-1 at home to Paris Saint-Germain on 6 October despite taking the lead from the spot after Thiago Motta was sent off.

• Thauvin scored a hat-trick and provided two assists in France's 6-0 victory over Armenia in a UEFA European Under-21 European Championship qualifier on 15 November.

• Sven Bender and Robert Lewandowski are both a booking away from a ban after picking up two yellow cards.

General information
• Dortmund lost 1-0 at home to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Saturday to slip six points adrift of the visitors and ten behind Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern München. Both teams ended with ten men, with Emir Spahić (80) and Sokratis Papastathopoulos (90+2) sent off.

• Nuri Şahin (partial ligament tear in right ankle) and Bender (twisted right angle/tendon damage) went off injured on Saturday.

• Julian Schieber scored his first goal of the season last Tuesday as Dortmund beat third division 1. FC Saarbrücken 2-0 to book a place in the German Cup quarter-finals.

• Lewandowski has scored 11 goals in 15 Bundesliga games this season, his best return at this stage since joining Dortmund.

• Łukasz Piszczek, back after hip and groin problems, made his first start of the season on 30 November as Dortmund won 3-1 at 1. FSV Mainz 05.

• In November BVB suffered three successive defeats for the first time since January/February 2010.

• Dortmund have won nine out of 12 at home this season, including the German Super Cup. They have managed eight victories out of 12 on their travels.

• Dortmund signed former German international defender Manuel Friedrich until the end of the season on 20 November. The 34-year-old was a free agent after leaving Bayer 04 Leverkusen this summer.

• Neven Subotić suffered knee ligament damage on 9 November and is expected to miss the rest of the season. Mats Hummels tore heel ligaments on international duty while left-back Marcel Schmelzer is out after tearing a calf muscle. İlkay Gündoğan has been sidelined since mid-August due to compression of the spine.

• Lewandowski has been nominated for the 2014 FIFA Ballon d'Or, which will be announced on 13 January. Jürgen Klopp, who committed to the club until 2018 on 30 October, is on the shortlist for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men's Football award.
