PFC CSKA Moskva midfielder Aleksandrs Cauņa has been ruled out for a month with a broken toe.
The 25-year-old Latvian international was missing for Wednesday's goalless Russian Premier League draw against FC Anji Makhachkala, with tests revealing a fractured bone in the big toe of his left foot. Cauņa will need around four weeks to recover. He will sit out the UEFA Champions League Group D visits of FC Viktoria Plzeň on Wednesday and Manchester City FC three weeks later, as well as Latvia's FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania and Slovakia. CSKA lost 3-0 at FC Bayern München on matchday one.
