Chelsea FC have signed 18-year-old Burkina Faso international Bertrand Traoré on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Attacking midfielder Traoré, who impressed as a trialist on the Blues' pre-season tour of Asia, arrives from Association Jeunes Espoirs De Bobo-Dioulasso. He made his international debut shortly before his 16th birthday and featured as a substitute during the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. The teenager has ten caps to his name and is likely to be in the squad to face Algeria in a FIFA World Cup play-off.

Chelsea are level on six points with FC Schalke 04 at the top of UEFA Champions League Group E ahead of the Bundesliga side's trip to Stamford Bridge on matchday four.
