Monaco secure Audard loan

AS Monaco FC have secured FC Lorient goalkeeper Fabien Audard on a year’s loan.

Last season's UEFA Champions League runners-up AS Monaco FC have signed FC Lorient goalkeeper Fabien Audard on a year’s loan to replace Senegal international Tony Sylva, who has moved to Lille OSC.

UEFA Cup experience
The 26-year-old Audard has never played in the French top flight, but had five seasons at Toulouse FC before moving to the Brittany side two years ago where he picked up UEFA Cup experience in two games for the 2001/02 French Cup winners.

Roma cover
He will provide cover at the Louis-II Stadium next season for Monaco’s number one goalkeeper Flavio Roma. Audard's move is compensated with the one-year loan to Lorient of youngsters Sébastien Grax and Nicolas Hislen, who recently signed contract extensions at Monaco.
