Kaká told UEFA.com that AC Milan's 3-0 win at Celtic FC was a boost for their confidence after it set up a "decisive" final match against AFC Ajax to decide who progresses from UEFA Champions League Group H.
With the Rossoneri hitherto without a victory in seven games, team-mate Nigel de Jong said the three points were "very welcome", while Celtic FC defenders Charlie Mulgrew and Emilio Izaguirre reflected on self-inflicted wounds.
Kaká, Milan midfielder
Tonight's victory is extremely important regardless of our previous results. It is an essential victory and we achieved the result we wanted. For me, the biggest surprise was the result. I was not expecting it to be like this, but this shows the way we played. We worked hard to get a good result and in the end it was a fair score and we deserved it. We knew that if we won tonight we would have a decisive game against Ajax. This is what happened and now we depend on ourselves.
We play at home, where we can get a good result. A victory or even a draw would be enough for us to qualify. This victory arrives at a good time and we needed a good result to improve our confidence. Every day I feel better, every game I feel better. I am happy with the way I'm playing and with the way things are going. I'm scoring lots of goals. I feel fine and I'm happy.
Nigel de Jong, Milan midfielder
I was expecting a little bit more from Celtic, but we put them under pressure and took the chances when they came along. For Milan, the Champions League is as important as the championship. We are not in a good place at the moment, but three points and 3-0 is very welcome. We showed tonight how dangerous we can be. We were very sharp right from the start. We were lucky at the start of the second half with the chance [Virgil] Van Dijk had, but after that we picked up the pieces and were comfortable. The next game against Ajax is now very important and we look forward to it.
Charlie Mulgrew, Celtic defender
It's disappointing. They were poor goals to lose, but we can take a lot of positives from the competition overall. It's hard to talk about it just now. It's still pretty fresh, but we just need to focus now and look to win the league and be back here again next season. We had our chances, especially in the first game [against Milan], but if you don't take them you are punished in this competition and Milan were clinical tonight.
It was very disappointing to lose two goals from corners. Those are the type of chances we should be clearing and dealing with. We've got a pretty good record from set pieces in domestic and European football, so we're pretty disappointed with that. We can't blame anything apart from the fact we didn't attack the ball and get it away. I had a chance myself in the first half and Virgil had one at the start of the second half, and if they had gone in it might have been a different story.
Emilio Izaguirre, Celtic defender
It's disappointing to lose at home, especially when two of the goals came from corners. We are usually pretty strong at home, but this was so bad from us. Virgil had a good chance, Charlie had another, but it's difficult when you don't take your chances.
