Krisztian Lisztes has signed a new two-year contract with German champions SV Werder Bremen.

Krisztian Lisztes has signed a new two-year contract with German champions SV Werder Bremen.

Cruciate injury
The 28-year-old is still recovering from a cruciate ligament injury that he picked up in a game against VfL Bochum 1848 in April, but the 2003/04 double winners were nonetheless keen to have the Hungarian international midfield player on board as they look ahead to their UEFA Champions League campaign.

Out of contract
"I am obviously very pleased that Werder have offered me a new deal," said Lisztes, who had been out of contract at the club since 30 June, but had rejected a previous offer from the club before being injured. "Now I want to get fit as soon as possible so that I can repay their trust."
