Austrian international striker Roland Kollmann has extended his contract with Austrian UEFA Champions League starters Grazer AK for a further two years until 2007.
Existing contract
The forward’s existing contract with Walter Schachner’s side was not due to expire until 2005, but the 27-year-old was keen to commit to the GAK cause after last year helping the club win the first league title in their 102-year history and then complete a double by beating FK Austria Wien in the Austrian Cup final.
'Doors wide open'
“The doors for future success are wide open for us and after almost all our players signalled their intention to stay on, there was no reason for me not to do the same,” said Kollmann, who scored 27 goals last season. The former FC Tirol Innsbruck and FC Kärnten player joined GAK in 2002 from FC Twente and has now scored a total of 36 goals in just 58 games for the club. GAK begin their 2004/05 Champions League challenge in the third qualifying round.
