Diarra worry for Lyon

Olympique Lyonnais face the prospect of starting the new season without midfield player Mahamadou Diarra.

French champions Olympique Lyonnais may be without their Mali midfield player, Mahamadou Diarra, when the new Ligue 1 season begins next month.

Groin injury
The 23-year-old was a notable absentee from training yesterday, having failed to fully recover from a groin injury picked up at the end of last season. He is unlikely to be fit for the champions' opening game on 6 August against OGC Nice and Lyon coach Paul Le Guen voiced his concern when he said: "I obviously wish that Diarra was fully fit at the moment."
