Petr Čech is set to sit out the rest of the campaign after Chelsea FC confirmed that he has dislocated his shoulder while captain John Terry is also set to miss the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Club Atlético de Madrid.

Goalkeeper Čech was led from the pitch 18 minutes into Tuesday evening's 0-0 first-leg draw away to Atlético after colliding with Raúl García and falling awkwardly following a corner. He was replaced by Mark Schwarzer, the 41-year-old coming on for only his second UEFA Champions League appearance; after half-time Terry hobbled off with an ankle injury.

After the game, manager José Mourinho said: "Petr Čech's season is over. He won't play again this season, but I hope he can at least celebrate something with us. For John, we will have to reach the final for him to play again."

On Sunday Chelsea face a crucial Premier League meeting away at leaders Liverpool FC, before Wednesday's home second leg with Atlético.
