Key tips
• Make sure you know everything that is happening around you.
• Decide what you want to do before you receive the ball; afterwards there is no time to think.
• As a striker moves he is expecting a pass so be ready to play it.
• You can also try a scoop above the defender's head; however, play it promptly. Kick the ball with the outside of the boot.
• Remember to pass at the moment the forward is level with the defender.
• Judge the pass by the forward's run: to feet, to the head or for him to shoot first time. Make it comfortable for the striker.
• Take into consideration a forward's individual strengths. Seydou Doumbia has good pace so adjust the pass for that. Vágner Love was more of a creator rather than running onto a ball. Mark González should receive the ball on the run.
