Injury blow for Pogatetz

Emanuel Pogatetz is out of Grazer AK's visit to Liverpool FC and Austria's opening FIFA World Cup fixtures.
A shoulder injury has ruled Emanuel Pogatetz out of the second leg of Grazer AK's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie with Liverpool FC as well as Austria's first two FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Shoulder pain
The defender felt pain in his shoulder while warming up for Wednesday's international friendly against Germany, and missed the 3-1 defeat. GAK team doctor Martin Leonhardt believes the injury will not require surgery, although the 21-year-old will be sidelined until mid-September.

Vital games
Before then GAK visit Liverpool on 24 August trailing 2-0 from the first leg. Pogatetz will also sit out Austria's Group 6 qualifiers against England in Vienna on 4 September and against Azerbaijan at the same venue four days later.
