Juventus took another step towards a fourth consecutive Serie A title by building a seven-point lead this weekend, but elsewhere there was misery for English giants Chelsea FC and Manchester City FC as both lost FA Cup ties to lower-league opposition. Spain's trio of UEFA Champions League hopefuls all triumphed, in contrast, while Paris Saint-Germain continued their recovery in Ligue 1.
• Paris moved level with second-placed Olympique de Marseille in France as a Zlatan Ibrahimović penalty sealed a 1-0 success at AS Saint-Étienne.
• Chelsea were the victims of a huge FA Cup upset, losing a two-goal cushion to fall 4-2 at home to third-division Bradford City FC.

• FC Shakhtar Donestsk brought their tour of Brazil to a climax with a 1-1 draw against Cruzeiro EC after taking the lead via Alex Teixeira.

• FC Basel 1893 continued their winter break with a 2-0 warm-up victory against SC Freiburg on Saturday.
• FC Porto slumped to a 1-0 reverse at CS Marítimo and lie six points behind Portuguese pacesetters SL Benfica, who have a game in hand.

• Like Chelsea, Manchester City also suffered a shock in the FA Cup, losing 2-0 at home to second-tier opponents Middlesbrough FC.
• Neymar and Lionel Messi both scored a pair as FC Barcelona cruised to a 6-0 win at Elche CF.

• Juventus kept up their ominous form at the top of Serie A with a 2-0 home success against AC Chievo Verona, building a seven-point lead after rivals AS Roma later drew.
• Borussia Dortmund played out a 1-1 stalemate with Fortuna Düsseldorf in the final game of their winter friendly programme on Saturday.

• Dimitar Berbatov got the only goal of the game as AS Monaco FC came out on top at LOSC Lille to strengthen their hold on fifth place in France.
