Hakan Çalhanoğlu believes the slender victory against Club Atlético de Madrid offered the proof that Bayer 04 Leverkusen "can compete against any good team".

Having scored the only goal of the round of 16 first leg against Club Atlético de Madrid, Hakan Çalhanoğlu said that Bayer 04 Leverkusen "can compete against any good team".

The midfielder added: "We were all fully awake and we deserved to win. We know Atlético are very strong at home but if we play like we did tonight, we have a good chance over there."
