UEFA.com's semi-final team of the week

UEFA.com's team of the semi-finals features no fewer than six Juventus players, including evergreen goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and match winner Álvaro Morata.

GK: Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus)
A survivor of the Juventus team that reached the 2003 UEFA Champions League final, the 37-year-old was an assured presence in the Bianconeri goal, making a number of solid stops and radiating calm amid Real Madrid's pressure.

DF: Patrice Evra (Juventus)
Had never lost a UEFA Champions League semi-final match in ten previous fixtures, and extended that to 11 with a typically impressive display at the Santiago Bernabéu. Lively going forward, he was also key to keeping Madrid's attack at bay with no fewer than six clearances.

DF: Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus)
Another colossus at the back for the Old Lady, expertly marshalling the Juventus rearguard despite Madrid's pressure. Needed to make only two clearances, however – testimony to the defensive organisation that took the Italian champions into the final.

DF: Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus)
Conceded the penalty that put Juve on the ropes in Madrid, a solitary blemish in an otherwise faultless showing. Made one tackle but a remarkable nine clearances and misplaced just four of his 51 passes as he kept it simple, and Madrid at arm's length.

DF: Marcelo (Real Madrid CF)
Always an outlet down Madrid's left wing, his boundless energy was in evidence once again as he sent over a series of promising crosses. Also missed the target with his one attempt on goal.

MF: Thiago Alcántara (FC Bayern München)
Particularly effective in the first 45 minutes, the former Barcelona midfielder completed 86% of his passes as he prompted Bayern's best moves, also having two efforts on goal. Covered more than 11km as he tirelessly sought a way back into the tie.

MF: Paul Pogba (Juventus)
Back in the side after two months out, the midfielder was scheduled to last about 60 minutes in Madrid; instead he played 89, ploughing up and down Juve's left flank. Might have made the finale more comfortable late on, but Iker Casillas saved his shot.

MF: Bastian Schweinsteiger (FC Bayern München)
Another lively presence in the Bayern midfield, Schweinsteiger had two attempts himself – one on target, one off – and teed up two of his team's three goals, picking out Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Müller inside the Barcelona area for assured finishes.

FW: Álvaro Morata (Juventus)
Swapped Madrid for Turin last summer and made his old club pay in the semis, scoring in last week's first leg. That was just the precursor to his strike in the Bernabéu, Morata firing in Pogba's flick-on. If his celebrations were muted, expect more emotion if he strikes again in Berlin.

FW: Robert Lewandowski (FC Bayern München)
His finest semi-final moment may remain his four goals against Real Madrid in 2013, yet the forward led Bayern's line well in their ultimately futile quest against Barcelona. Had no fewer than six attempts, finally finding the net with a cool finish just before the hour.

FW: Neymar (FC Barcelona)
Took his tally in this season's UEFA Champions League to nine goals in 11 appearances with a pair of simple finishes at the Fußball Arena München, both laid on by Luis Suárez. Neymar, Suárez and Lionel Messi have contributed 25 of Barcelona's 28 goals in this campaign.
