Austrian double winners FC Salzburg have appointed Peter Zeidler as their new coach following the departure of Adi Hütter.
The 52-year-old Zeidler leaves Salzburg's feeder club FC Liefering, where he had been in charge since 2012, to join on a deal until summer 2017. The German succeeds Hütter, who recently agreed a mutual termination of his contract at Salzburg.
"I'm delighted the club has chosen to bring me in," said Zeidler, whose new club enter the UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round. "Being the manager of Salzburg is a great and exciting task. I can't wait to begin working with the team, as well as the coaching and backroom staff."
Salzburg's sporting director Christoph Freund explained the reasons behind the appointment, saying: "Peter Zeidler knows our philosophy inside-out and has successfully followed our path for several years. We know his work as a coach well and are convinced of his ability."
