Club Brugge 0-4 Manchester United (agg: 1-7)
A Wayne Rooney hat-trick followed by an Ander Herrera goal ensured that, despite Javier Hernández's penalty miss, Manchester United join Real Madrid and Barcelona in making a 20th group stage appearance. Coincidentally, Club Brugge now go into the UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup for the 20th consecutive season, 11 more than the next longest run.

Leverkusen 3-0 Lazio (agg: 3-1)
Hakan Çalhanoğlu levelled the aggregate score late in the first half and Admir Mehmedi struck three minutes into the second before Lazio lost Maurício to a red card and Karim Ballarabi removed all doubt, meaning Leverkusen head for a tenth appearance in the group stage

CSKA Moskva 3-1 Sporting CP (agg: 4-3)
Teófilo Gutiérrez increased Sporting's aggregate advantage before the break but Seydou Doumbia scored twice and Ahmed Musa conjured a winner with five minutes to go. The visitors also had João Mário sent off late on.

Partizan 2-1 BATE Borisov (agg: 2-2, BATE win on away goals)
Ihar Stasevich pounced 25 minutes in for an away goal that proved crucial for BATE. With 16 minutes remaining Maksim Zhavnerchik put through his own net and deep in added time substitute Ivan Šaponjić gave Partizan brief hope. However, this is the fifth time BATE have gone from the second qualifying round to the group stage, twice more than anyone else.

APOEL 1-1 Astana (agg: 1-2)
Although a superb free-kick on the hour from Semir Štilić wiped out Astana's lead from the first leg, Nemanja Maksimović netted with six minutes left to book Kazakhstan's maiden UEFA Champions League group stage berth.
