Group A
Bastia 0-2 Paris Saint-Germain
It took 72 minutes for Paris to break the deadlock but their victory was thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimović who scored both goals, set up by Edinson Cavani and Serge Aurier to keep the capital side clear and unbeaten at the Ligue 1 summit.

Real Madrid 3-0 Levante
Madrid moved joint top of the Liga on an afternoon when Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 324th competitive goal for the club, overtaking Raúl González. Despite a long injury list, the home team dominated and Ronaldo combined with a surging Marcelo to open the scoring before the Portugal striker got the second himself two minutes later after Toni Kroos led a swift counterattack. Late on, Ronaldo combined with Lucas Vázquez to set up Jesé for the third.

Malmö 3-0 Kalmar
Markus Rosenberg scored twice in the last 22 minutes to aid the deposed Swedish champions to victory. Jo Inge Berget, who set up the first, got the second in between Rosenberg's two goals.

Dynamo Kyiv 0-3 Shakhtar Donetsk
Dynamo's 38-match unbeaten run in the Ukrainian Premier League was brought to a shuddering halt on Friday by their title rivals. Marlos deflated the home side on 40 minutes before Alex Teixeira's second-half double sealed a resounding win and moved Shakhtar level on points with Dynamo at the summit.

Group B
CSKA Mosvka 3-2 Ural
The leaders returned to domestic action with victory against Ural. Leonid Slutski rested Alan Dzagoev and his replacement Kirill Panchenko thanked his coach for the start with a goal within two minutes. The visiting side equalised but the leaders clinched all three points thanks to goals from Seydou Doumbia and Pontus Wernbloom before another Ural reply. Doumbia's strike was his ninth in his last nine games for CSKA.

Everton 0-3 Manchester United
On a day when Everton mourned the death of Howard Kendall, the manager who led them to glory in the 1980s, Manchester United cruised to a victory that keeps them within two points of leaders Manchester City. Morgan Schneiderlin's opportunist shot put United ahead and Ander Herrera headed in Marcos Rojo's cross to make it 2-0 at half-time. Herrera set up former Everton striker Wayne Rooney for the third in the 62nd minute.

Wolfsburg 4-2 Hoffenheim
Wolfsburg are into the top four after Max Kruse sealed victory with his first Bundesliga hat-trick. Kruse scored in the first minute after being set up by Julian Draxler, who then made the second for Bas Dost. Jeremy Toljan and Jonathan Schmid scored either side of half-time to level, but Kruse swiftly restored the lead and got his third in the 83rd minute after good work by André Schürrle.

PSV Eindhoven 1-1 Excelsior
Former PSV player Nigel Hasselbaink equalised deep in added time to stop his former club rising up to second place. Davy Pröpper's 62nd-minute goal seemed to have kept PSV within two points of leaders Ajax on a day when Luuk de Jong returned from injury.

Group C
Vianense 1-2 Benfica (Portuguese Cup)
Jardel struck in added time on Friday to take a below-strength Benfica past their third-tier opponents into the last 32. Mehdi Carcela-González had given Benfica a half-time lead but Mohamed Coulibaly's superb shot into the top corner from distance levelled the scores with 12 minutes left; the Eagles prevailed nonetheless.

Galatasaray 4-1 Gençlerbirliği
Galatasaray overcame a 1-0 half-time deficit for a win that left them top of the Turkish league until Beşiktaş responded on Sunday. Bilal Kisa equalised and both Aurélien Chedjou and Yasin Öztekin added goals before Burak Yılmaz, back after a month out through injury, came off the bench in the 84th minute and soon after converted a penalty.

Real Sociedad 0-2 Atlético Madrid
Atlético posted their first victory in three Liga outings after being given an early lead by Antoine Griezmann, the French international grabbing his fourth Liga goal this term. Yannick Carrasco struck the second in added time, between a pair of red cards for the hosts, as Diego Simeone's men moved within two points of the top.

Astana 2-1 Ordabasy
Astana moved within five points of Kairat Almaty, with four games left to the leaders' three. An own goal from Serhiy Malyi and a second-half strike from Roger Cañas gave Astana victory on a day when Kairat drew. The top two meet next Sunday in what could effectively prove the title decider.

Group D
Internazionale Milano 0-0 Juventus
Neither side was able to break the deadlock in the Derby d'Italia as Juventus continued their stuttering start to the season. Sami Khedira went closest to finding the net when he connected with a post in the second half, but the result left Juve 14th in the table with just two wins from their first eight fixtures.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-5 Borussia Mönchengladbach
Mönchengladbach scored five goals in a competitive away game for the first time since August 2010 to make it four Bundesliga wins out of four since André Schubert took the helm. Raffael's 16th-minute opener on his 200th Bundesliga appearance was cancelled out by Alexander Meier's penalty, but the visitors hit four without reply after the break. Teenager Mahmoud Dahoud continued his impressive senior breakthrough as he got the first of those before setting up Raffael to make it 3-1. Substitute André Hahn scored twice in the last eight minutes, the first a penalty after Dahoud was fouled.

Manchester City 5-1 Bournemouth
City picked up where they left off before the international break, when they beat Newcastle United 6-1, to remain on top of the Premier League courtesy of Raheem Sterling's first-half hat-trick. Having set up Sterling's first, Wilifried Bony got the second after the ball was spilt by Adam Federici, who replaced Artur Boruc in the Bournemouth goal following a warm-up injury. Glenn Murray pulled one back but two more from Sterling made it 4-1 at half-time and Bony scored again after good work by Jesús Navas.

Eibar 1-1 Sevilla
Sevilla lost ground on the leading teams and needed a 71st-minute Kevin Gameiro goal from a Vicentre Iborra pass to salvage a point at high-flying Eibar, who took the lead early on through Borja González. Sevilla did finish strongly but had to settle for a point.

Group E
Vitebsk 0-2 BATE Borisov
BATE wrapped up their tenth consecutive Belarusian title on Friday with three games to spare thanks to a routine win at lowly Vitebsk. Aleksei Rios and Dmitri Mozolevski scored in the first 31 minutes to ensure the visitors maintained their unbeaten record on the road before the celebrations began.

Barcelona 5-2 Rayo Vallecano
Neymar scored four for Barcelona to ensure they came from behind to join Real Madrid and Celta Vigo at the Liga summit. Javi Guerro gave Rayo the lead, but Neymar converted two penalties to put Barcelona ahead at half-time. Luis Suárez then set up Neymar twice before adding the fifth himself, ahead of a late consolation for the visitors.

Bayern became the first team to win their nine opening Bundesliga games after Thiago Alcántara's fine run and pass set up Thomas Müller for a 23rd-minute goal that restored the leaders' seven-point cushion. Since losing the German Super Cup on penalties to Wolfsburg, Bayern have won all 12 of their competitive matches.

Dinamo Zagreb 4-1 NK Zagreb
Gabrijel Boban's first-minute effort stunned the leaders on Friday, but Junior Fernandes struck twice ahead of the break before Armin Hodžić and Ángelo Henríquez took the game away from the visitors after half-time.

Olympiacos 4-0 AEK Athens
It is seven wins out of seven for Olympiacos in the league this season following a comfortable derby triumph. Alberto Botía grabbed the only first-half strike, but Ideye Brown made it two in the 70th minute and Kostas Fortounis was then introduced to score twice, the second a penalty.

Goals from Cristian Tello and André André ensured Porto defeated their second-level hosts to reach the last 32.

Maccabi Petach-Tikva 1-2 Maccabi Tel-Aviv

Carlos García's opener for Tel-Aviv was cancelled out by Guy Malemed, yet Eran Zahavi's penalty with ten minutes left restored the lead. Daniel Lifshitz was sent off with four minutes to go, meaning Tel Ben Haim II took over in goal for the away team – but they held on.

Dynamo Kyiv 0-3 Shakhtar Donetsk
Shakhtar ended Dynamo's 38-match unbeaten run in the Ukrainian Premier League on Friday. The home side had won all four home games without conceding a goal going into the fixture, but both records were blown away by Mircea Lucescu's men. Chelsea 2-0 Aston Villa
Chelsea moved away from the lower reaches of the Premier League with a defeat of struggling Villa. Willian stole the ball to set up Diego Costa for the 34th-minute opener and early in the second half Alan Hutton turned a shot from the Spain striker into his own net.

Group H

Lyon were left frustrated at Stade Louis II on Friday despite earning a point through Rafael's 84th-minute equaliser. Mario Pašalić gave the hosts the lead on 39 minutes, but Lyon dominated thereafter and played the last 24 minutes against ten men following Wallace's dismissal. Despite 15 shots on target, Rafael was the only visiting player to break through.

Valencia 3-0 Málaga
Valencia moved into the top half with a dominant performance. They took the lead when Charles headed Pablo Piatti's crossed free-kick into his own net and André Gomes doubled the advantage with an impressive solo effort on 33 minutes. To make matters worse for the visitors, Jaume Domènech saved Duda's penalty shortly after. Valencia had their own spot kick close to the end when 19-year-old substitute Danilo Barbosa was fouled; Dani Parejo did the rest.

Mouscron-Péruwelz 1-2 Gent
Gent came from a goal down on Friday to earn their second away victory at Mouscron and maintain their unbeaten league record this season.
