Brazil midfield player Kakà has agreed a one-year contract extension with AC Milan. His new deal will run until 2009.
A product of São Paulo FC, for whom he played 56 league games and scored 22 goals, Kakà joined Milan in June 2003 for €8.5m. The 22-year-old had a fantastic first season in Serie A, quickly establishing himself as regular and scoring ten times in 30 games as Milan secured their 17th Scudetto.
The Rossoneri started the new Serie A campaign with a 2-2 home draw against AS Livorno Calcio but were 1-0 winners at FC Shakhtar Donetsk in their UEFA Champions League opener on Tuesday night. Milan's next Group F fixture will be at home against Scottish title-holders Celtic FC on 29 September.
