Barcelona restored their three-point lead on Sunday while Juventus racked up their 14th consecutive win and Arsenal prevailed, following some eye-catching results 24 hours earlier.

SUNDAY

Levante 0-2 Barcelona (D. Navarro 21 og, Suárez 90+2)
Barcelona marked Luis Enrique's 100th match in charge with a hard-fought triumph in Valencia, a result which equalled their club record of 28 matches unbeaten in all competitions. Levante captain David Navarro deflected Jordi Alba's low cross into his own net in the first half before Luis Suárez's 20th league goal of the season – his 36th in all competitions – sealed the points in added time to restore Barça's three-point lead at the Liga summit.

Granada 1-2 Real Madrid (El Arabi 60; Benzema 30, Modrić 85)
Luka Modrić found the net in spectacular fashion to keep Zinédine Zidane's side in the Liga title reckoning, the Croatia midfielder applying a thunderous finish as time ticked away. The visitors had earlier taken the lead via Karim Benzema's 19th league strike this term, but were pegged back by Youssef El Arabi for struggling Granada before keeping themselves within four points of Barça.

Bournemouth 0-2 Arsenal (Özil 23, Oxlade-Chamberlain 24)
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored his first Premier League goal away from home as Arsenal moved level on points with second-placed north London rivals Tottenham. The Gunners, who struck twice inside 88 seconds in the first half, ended their three-game barren run in front of goal and recorded their first league success since 2 January in the process. Arsène Wenger's side trail leaders Leicester by five points ahead of their meeting next Sunday.

Club Brugge 1-0 Gent (Refaelov 59pen)
Gent suffered a second reverse at title rivals Club Brugge inside five days, having also lost their midweek Belgian Cup semi-final decider in Bruges. Lior Refaelov converted from the spot to send the hosts top on goal difference above their opponents as the Buffalos dropped to second.

Frosinone 0-2 Juventus (Cuadrado 73, Dybala 90+1)
On-loan winger Juan Cuadrado got the ball running and Paulo Dybala helped himself to his 15th goal in all competitions this season as second-placed Juventus secured their 14th consecutive Serie A success. The Bianconeri remain two points adrift of pacesetters Napoli ahead of next week's top-of-the-table clash.

Chelsea 1-1 Manchester United (Diego Costa 90+1; Lingard 61)
Diego Costa rescued a late point for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to extend Guus Hiddink's unbeaten run to 11 games as Blues coach. The hosts suffered a blow when Kurt Zouma was forced off with a knee injury on 59 minutes after landing awkwardly, and moments later Jesse Lingard struck the opener with a brilliant turn and finish. However, Costa latched onto Cesc Fàbregas's pass before rounding David de Gea to level and dent the visitors' UEFA Champions League qualification hopes.

Marseille 1-2 Paris (Cabella 25; Ibrahimović 2, Di María 71)
Laurent Blanc's men extended their record-breaking unbeaten league run to 34 games after seeing off spirited arch-rivals OM in Le Classique. Zlatan Ibrahimović scored with less than two minutes gone as Paris threatened to overwhelm their hosts, but Rémy Cabella scored from distance as Marseille rallied – and it took Ángel Di María's finish from an Ibrahimović cut-back to decide the outcome, keeping Paris 24 points clear in Ligue 1.

Roma 2-1 Sampdoria (Florenzi 45, Perotti 50; Pjanić 57og)
The Giallorossi lifted themselves within two points of a top-three spot in Italy courtesy of Wojciech Szczęsny's late point-blank save from Antonio Cassano. The capital club had built a two-goal advantage after efforts from Alessandro Florenzi and new signing Diego Perotti, yet they were left hanging on by the end following a Miralem Pjanić own goal. Former Roma forward Cassano was nonetheless unable to thwart his old side.

Utrecht 0-2 PSV (Arias 15, Van Ginkel 21)
On-loan midfielder Marco van Ginkel sealed the three points on his Eredivisie return as leaders PSV overcame the side who ended their Dutch Cup hopes at the quarter-final stage on Thursday. Phillip Cocu's men remain one point above Ajax at the summit after securing a sixth successive league win.

No game: Dynamo Kyiv, Zenit

SATURDAY

Atlético 3-1 Eibar (Giménez 56, Saúl Ñíguez 63, Torres 90+1; Keko 46)
There were huge celebrations as Fernando Torres reached 100 goals for Atlético, with his late strike against Eibar his first goal since September. Without a win in four games in all competitions, Atlético flirted with disaster after going 1-0 down, but defender José Giménez scored only his second league goal for the club to level, and – again, following a corner – Saúl Ñiguez made it 2-1.

Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern
A run of six straight wins in all competitions came to an end for Bundesliga leaders Bayern, who had Xabi Alonso dismissed late on at Leverkusen. In a tight game, substitute Thomas Müller was almost the hero, twice going close after coming off the bench for Josep Guardiola's side. Of more concern, Arturo Vidal was taken off with an injury in the second half.

Manchester City 1-3 Leicester City (Agüero 87; Huth 3 60, Mahrez 48)
City suffered a shock home defeat in the battle of the top two in England, with leaders Leicester now six points clear of Manuel Pellegrini's side. Two Robert Huth goals from set pieces either side of a tidy Riyad Mahrez finish put the Foxes 3-0 up after an hour, with Sergio Agüero's 87th-minute strike – his 14th in the league this season – scant consolation for City.

Schalke 3-0 Wolfsburg (Huntelaar 24, Geis 35, Schöpf 87)
Wolfsburg are without a win in five games since their 3-2 defeat of Manchester United on 8 December (D2 L3), with the defeat at Schalke the first game in which they have failed to score since a 0-0 draw at Augsburg on 29 November.

FRIDAY
Belenenses 0-5 Benfica (Mitroglou 41 58 76, Jonas 53 87)
Kostas Mitroglou scored a hat-trick as Benfica moved top ahead of the weekend Liga schedule with a 5-0 triumph at Belenenses. Mitroglou broke the deadlock four minutes ahead of the break before completing his treble after the interval while Jonas also struck twice, taking his tally to 23 goals in 21 league games this term.
