FC Shakhtar Donetsk will be without Julius Aghahowa for their UEFA Champions League tie against FC Barcelona on 29 September after the Nigeria striker injured his knee during his side's 3-1 win over FC Metalurh Zaporizhya on Saturday.
'Two weeks out'
Aghahowa picked up the injury after crashing into a goal post and limped off in the second half. "There are a couple of stitches over the wound," the Shakhtar doctor Artur Gluschenko said. "The player will need about two weeks to recover and he can't even run in the meantime."
Aghahowa is joint-top scorer in the Ukrainian Premier League with four goals from seven games. Shakhtar are yet to drop a point in their domestic league, but lost their opening Group F match to AC Milan 1-0 at home last Tuesday.
