Moise Kean – Champions League's first 2000-born player?

Moise Kean could become the fourth youngest player ever to appear in the UEFA Champions League – and the first born in this millennium – should he feature for Juventus at Lyon.

Teenager Moise Kean has been included in Juventus's squad for Tuesday's Group H game against Lyon – so could become the first player born this millennium to appear in the UEFA Champions League.

Striker Kean, who is yet to make his senior Bianconeri debut, has been named in coach Massimiliano Allegri's plans due to the absence of the likes of Mario Mandžukić and Marko Pjaca. The 16-year-old, born in Vercelli to Ivorian parents, was an unused substitute during Saturday's Serie A victory over Udinese.

Kean was described by UEFA.com as "the jewel in Juventus's youth system" prior to last summer's UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

Kean, born on 28 February 2000, will be 16 years and 232 days old on Tuesday, potentially making him the fourth-youngest player to feature in Europe's premier club competition – should Allegri opt to thrust him into action.
