New role for Butragueño

New role for Butragueño

Real Madrid CF have confirmed former Spain striker Emilio Butragueño as their new sporting director.
Real Madrid CF have confirmed Emilio Butragueño as their new sporting director following a board meeting at the Santiago Bernabéu this evening.

Valdano successor
The former Madrid and Spain striker replaces Jorge Valdano, who vacated the position in May. Butragueño, 41, had been working alongside Valdano since joining Madrid's backroom team in January 2001. He is better known for his goalscoring exploits in a career that yielded six Spanish titles, two UEFA Cups and two Spanish Cups.
