Juventus FC striker David Trezeguet will be out of action for at least three months after finally opting for surgery in a bid to repair his dislocated shoulder.
Last week the French forward, in consultation with Juventus medical staff, decided to undergo physiotherapy in an attempt to discover the full extent of his injury. Today, however, he was visited by French doctor Gilles Walch and it was decided that surgery was the best solution.
Trezeguet, who will turn 27 on Friday, dislocated his left shoulder during Juventus's 1-0 Serie A win at Udinese Calcio on 3 October. The operation is scheduled for 19 October at the Sainte Anne Lumière hospital in Lyon.
The French international will miss all four of Juve's remaining fixtures in UEFA Champions League Group C. The Bianconeri have collected six points from their first two games against AFC Ajax and Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC and next face a double-header against FC Bayern München, who have also won their first two matches.
