Ruud van Nistelrooy was on great form when he answered fans' questions as part of the 2017 UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, presented by Heineken.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker was speaking in Jamaica, where European football's most prestigious prize thrilled thousands of fans in Kingston, Ochos Rios and Montego Bay among other stunning locations on the Caribbean island.

When he was not busy coaching at Kingston's Football Factory, appearing on Jamaican radio or signing autographs for star-struck locals, Van Nistelrooy sat down for a Q&A with followers of the UEFA Champions League Instagram account

Best player you played against?

Van Nistelrooy: One of my heroes in football, Paolo Maldini. The career he had, extending over 22 or 23 seasons, the trophies he won, and especially his personality. The best in his position ever, for me.

Current player that resembles your style?

Van Nistelrooy: An out-and-out No9 would be Edinson Cavani. He's a very strong player with great movement in and out of the box. He also helps the team with his hold-up play and is a great No9.

Best goal you have ever seen?

Van Nistelrooy: Diego Maradona's solo run against England at the [1986] World Cup, especially with the Argentinian commentator, which gives me goosebumps all over. It's a magical moment.

Which formation best suited you?

Van Nistelrooy: 4-2-3-1. At United with Beckham on the right, Giggs on the left, Scholes and Keane in the middle and Solskjær just in behind me. You have good width and midfield to support the striker. It was the best system for me.
