Lionel Messi, Edinson Cavani and Bas Dost have maintained their places at the top of the European league scorers table, but Harry Kane made a huge leap up the leaderboard in the final days of the English season.

With the Spanish, German, English, French and Portuguese seasons now over, it would take a miracle to budge Lionel Messi, Edinson Cavani and Bas Dost from the top of the 2016/17 goalscorers table in Europe's premier leagues.

The highest-ranked players with games still to play are Roma's Edin Džeko and Napoli's Dries Mertens, who both have one Serie A match to go. However, do not bet against them rising fast; in the past few days, Tottenham's Harry Kane shot up our leaderboard with seven goals in the final two Premier League matchdays.
