Mancini retained by Roma

Brazilian winger Mancini has signed a new contract at AS Roma, which runs until 2009.

Brazilian winger Mancini has renewed his contract with AS Roma until 2009, 24 hours after team-mate Daniele De Rossi signed a new deal.

Derby goal
After joining from Brazilian side CA Mineiro in 2002, Mancini had an ill-fated spell on loan at AC Venezia, before becoming a crowd favourite at the Stadio Olimpico. He scored eight goals last season, included a back-heeled strike in a derby against S.S. Lazio.

Leverkusen trip
This season the right-sided Mancini has played five games in Serie A and two in the UEFA Champions League. The Giallorossi are 14th in their domestic league and still without points in Europe, where they visit Group B rivals Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Tuesday.
