REAL MADRID v ATLÉTICO

Real Madrid 2-1 Valencia (Ronaldo 27, Marcelo 86; Parejo 82)
Marcelo's first Liga goal since October ensured that Madrid stayed level on points with Barcelona at the Spanish top-flight summit. The Brazilian full-back's late right-footed effort from the edge of the penalty area gave the Merengues the points after Daniel Parejo looked to have earned Valencia a draw.

Cristiano Ronaldo – who also missed a penalty – had headed in Dani Carvajal's cross to give Madrid the lead, taking his tally to 20 Liga goals this term – the eighth successive season he has reached that mark. Madrid have now found the net in a Spanish record 58 successive fixtures but have kept just one clean sheet in their last 16 matches in all competitions.

Las Palmas 0-5 Atlético (Gameiro 2 18, Saúl Ñíguez 17, Thomas 72, Torres 90+1)
Atlético responded emphatically to Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Villarreal, a defeat which ended the Rojiblancos' 12-game unbeaten run. Diego Simeone's men are now 15 matches unbeaten away from home – a run stretching back to December – and have kept nine clean sheets in their last 13 fixtures.

Third-placed Atleti took an early lead through Kevin Gameiro's close-range finish and had all but put the game to bed inside 18 minutes thanks to Saúl Ñíguez's header and Gameiro's neat finish. Thomas Partey struck the goal of the game, rounding off a slick team move to find the net for the first time this season, before substitute Fernando Torres added late gloss.

Monaco 3-1 Toulouse (Glik 49, Mbappé 64, Lemar 75; Toivonen 46)
Monaco consolidated their place at the head of the Ligue 1 standings thanks to their 13th straight home win in all competitions. Though Ola Toivonen's opportunist finish put Toulouse in front just after the break, Monaco were level moments later through Kamil Glik's header.

Kylian Mbappé then fired in his 18th goal in his last 18 club appearances before Thomas Lemar turned in from close range to wrap up the points. Monaco have won 13 of their last 15 outings in all competitions.

Atalanta 2-2 Juventus (Conti 45, Freuler 89; Spinazzola og 50, Dani Alves 83)
The champions fell behind when Andrea Conti headed in from Alejandro Gómez's cross on the stroke of half-time but levelled swiftly after the interval when Miralem Pjanić's free-kick was nodded past his own goalkeeper by Leonardo Spinazzola.

Dani Alves's diving header from another fine Pjanić cross looked as if it would prove decisive, only for Remo Freuler to scramble in a late equaliser and deny the visitors a fourth straight Serie A success.
