Reinke rewarded by Bremen

Veteran Andreas Reinke has earned a contract extension until 2006 at German champions Werder Bremen.

Werder Bremen have awarded goalkeeper Andreas Reinke a contract extension until summer 2006.

'Very happy'
The Bremen No1 was due to get another year at the Weserstadion once he had played an undisclosed number of games, and that clause has now been activated. Bremen sporting director Klaus Allofs said: "Andi will continue to play for us next season. We are very happy with him."

Fresh talent
However, Allofs added that the club were on the look-out for fresh talent, in order "to create a challenge for all our goalkeepers". Reinke, 35, helped Bremen to win the double last season, his first after joining from Real Murcia CF. His understudy is the 26-year-old Pascal Borel, a former German Under-21 international.
