Shakhtar duo on the sidelines

FC Shakhtar Donetsk midfielders Anatoliy Tymoschuk and Matuzalem could miss both remaining Group F matches.

Sprained knee
Tymoschuk left the field in the 60th minute after being hurt by Tavriya defender Everton as the Brazilian attempted to charge down his shot on goal. The Shakhtar skipper has sprained his knee and is required to wear a special bandage during his three weeks to a month out.

Group F
Tymoschuk was sent off in Shakhtar's last UEFA Champions League Group F match against Celtic FC, a 1-0 defeat, and was already suspended for the 24 November trip to AC Milan. Matuzalem will also sit out the San Siro fixture with an ankle problem after he too was on the receiving end of a tackle from Everton. Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu said he does not know how long the Brazilian will be sidelined.

Slender chance
Down to ten men, Shakhtar conceded a late goal to lose 2-1, although they remain a point clear of FC Dynamo Kyiv at the Ukrainian summit after 12 rounds. Lucescu's side have a slender chance of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League, but will have to beat Milan and FC Barcelona and hope other results go their way.
