Saha setback for United

Manchester United FC forward Louis Saha will miss the rest of the group stage due to a knee ligament injury.

Manchester United FC forward Louis Saha will miss the rest of the UEFA Champions League group stage after suffering a knee ligament injury on international duty.

Scan confirms worst
The 26-year-old was hurt during France's 0-0 draw with Poland on Wednesday, and a scan confirmed that the problem was more serious than first thought. He is ruled out for at least a month - having been plagued by a series of injuries since joining United Fulham FC last January.

'Something serious'
United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz said: "Louis is out - his injury is really something serious and we cannot think about him for the next three or four weeks. It is not the same injury as he had last time - it was the result of a very tough tackle during the game. He has had a scan which shows some problem but the details are best left to the doctors - it is not the problem he had in August."

Van Nistelrooij boost
United, who welcome Group D leaders Olympique Lyonnais on Tuesday and visit Fenerbahçe SK on 8 December, will be able to field Ruud van Nistelrooij even through the Dutch striker suffered a slight injury playing for the Netherlands against Andorra.
