The European deadline is midnight tonight while players must be registered before 12.00CET tomorrow (1 February) to be eligible for European football. The 16 teams remaining in the UEFA Champions League may register a maximum of three new players for use in the competition, provided they are eligible.
At any point in the tournament, a team's A squad list may contain 25 players, while a B list is used to register players who were born on or after 1 January 1983 and who have been eligible to play for the club for at least two years since their 15th birthday. If the registration of new players causes the maximum squad limit to be exceeded, the necessary number of other registered players must be removed.
The same deadlines and restrictions apply to the 32 teams in the UEFA Cup. During the course of a season, a player is only eligible to play for one club in UEFA club competitions, excluding the first three rounds of the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
