'Short in defence'
Campbell twisted his ankle during Tuesday's English Premiership defeat by Manchester United FC and Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger expects to be without him for the forthcoming games against Aston Villa FC and Crystal Palace FC. "We have lost Sol Campbell for two weeks. Sol's injury leaves us short in defence," said Wenger.
No English assignment
The 30-year-old centre-half will also miss England's friendly international against the Netherlands on 9 February, but is expected to return in time for the Champions League first knockout round first-leg tie away to Bayern.
