Scholl staying with Bayern

Mehmet Scholl has signed a one-year extension to his contract with Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern München.

Until summer 2006
The 34-year-old Scholl reached an agreement with Bayern manager Uli Hoeness and chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge last night and will now remain at the club until summer 2006. He is Bayern's longest-serving player having joined from Karlsruher SC in 1992.

Short meeting
"Uli Hoeness and I met up with Mehmet on Friday and it took about five minutes to agree the new contract," said Rummenigge after today's 2-0 win over Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Scholl, a former German international, has played 292 games for Bayern, scoring 82 goals.
