Vardar lose Stojanov for four months

A broken leg will cause FK Vardar's Igor Stojanov to miss UEFA Champions League qualifying.

F.Y.R. Macedonian international Igor Stojanov broke his leg today and will miss FK Vardar's upcoming UEFA Champions League first qualifying round match against F91 Dudelange.

Injured ligaments
Stojanov broke his right leg and also severely injured ligaments in his knee in a friendly match arranged to prepare Vardar for their European tie against the team from Luxembourg on 17 and 24 July.

Four months out
The 26-year-old defender was immediately transferred to hospital and his leg operated on. The surgeon, Mirce Simeonovo, said afterwards that the recovery period will be at least four months.
