Fitness concerns for contenders

Several clubs have injury worries with PSV Eindhoven's Ji-Sung Park and AC Milan's Paolo Maldini both doubtful.

Ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals this week, uefa.com rounds up the latest news involving the contenders.

PSV Eindhoven v Olympique Lyonnais

Lyon coach Paul Le Guen made six changes to the side he fielded at home against PSV last week and saw his team draw 2-2 with FC Nantes Atlantique to open up a 14-point gap at the top of Ligue 1. Le Guen, who was relieved to see Michael Essien run off a slight knock and complete the game, said: "It was a strange game because we were not fully focused. Now we have four days to prepare for one of the most important games in the club's history."

FC Internazionale Milano v AC Milan
A thigh strain prevented Paolo Maldini playing in Milan's 1-1 draw against Brescia Calcio on Saturday and looks likely to keep him out of the second leg against Inter on Tuesday. Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti left out Maldini and Kakha Kaladze (ankle) at the weekend while Jaap Stam and Kakà were absent through suspension and are sure to feature against the Nerazzurri.

Inter lost the first leg 2-0 and face an uphill battle to qualify but received some good news following their 1-0 win against Bologna FC at the weekend. Absentees Giuseppe Favalli, Juan Sebastián Verón, Dejan Stankovic and Adriano should all return to the starting lineup on Tuesday, although Alvaro Recoba and Emre Belözoglu are still sidelined with leg injuries.

Juventus FC v Liverpool FC
The absence of Jonathan Zebina is Juventus coach Fabio Capello's major concern ahead of his side's second-leg encounter with Liverpool. Defender Ciro Ferrara is also struggling with the calf strain which kept him out of Saturday's 3-3 draw with ACF Fiorentina while David Trezeguet's ongoing ankle problem may prevent him starting against the Premiership side, who won the first leg 2-1. Capello rested Brazilian midfield player Emerson on Saturday while Alessio Tacchinardi will miss Wednesday's second leg due to suspension.

A domestic ban prevented Milan Baroš playing in Liverpool's 1-0 defeat by Manchester City FC while Sami Hyypiä watched from the substitutes' bench. Stephen Warnock replaced Djimi Traore at left-back while Mauricio Pellegrino and Fernando Morientes, both ineligible for the Champions League, were recalled.

FC Bayern München v Chelsea FC

José Mourinho's side travel to Germany protecting a 4-2 lead from the first leg to face a Bayern side that moved three points clear at the Bundesliga summit thanks to a 2-1 win against VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday. Furthermore, striker Claudio Pizarro returned to training on Sunday and is likely to be fit in time to face Chelsea, along with Roy Makaay who played in the defeat of Mönchengladbach .
