Van der Sar seals United switch

Manchester United FC have agreed to sign goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar from Fulham FC for an undisclosed fee.

Manchester United FC have agreed to sign Netherlands goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar from English Premiership rivals Fulham FC for an undisclosed fee.

Medical pending
The 34-year-old former AFC Ajax and Juventus FC player, who has 95 Dutch caps to his name, has signed a two-year deal with the Old Trafford club and, pending a medical, will join on 1 July.

Ongoing search
United had been looking for a goalkeeper to compete for a first-team berth with Tim Howard since releasing Northern Irish international Roy Carroll and Spaniard Ricardo during May.
