Rebrov returns to Dynamo

Ukraine forward Serhiy Rebrov is going back to FC Dynamo Kyiv in the hope of reigniting his international career.

Plenty of options
"I was a free agent and had a number of choices, but Dynamo was the only place I really wanted to come to restart my career," said the 31-year-old, who had been playing in English football's second tier with West Ham United FC. "I'm glad I came back. My soul belongs here."

Proud record
Rebrov made his name alongside Andriy Shevchenko at Dynamo in the 1990s and is still among the top 20 scorers in UEFA Champions League history with 19 goals, having helped the club to the semi-finals in 1998/99. Under Ukrainian Premier League regulations, he is free to play in the final two games of the season, with Dynamo trailing leaders FC Shakhtar Donetsk by four points.

Big-money move
In summer 2000, Rebrov left Dynamo to join Tottenham Hotspur FC for €16.3m before an 18-month spell in Turkey with Fenerbahçe SK. He returned to England last July to sign for West Ham and helped them to promotion to the Premiership. Rebrov is hoping to win back his place in the national team as Ukraine are on course to qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He is his country's most-capped player, having appeared 65 times and scored 13 goals.
