Emanuelson earns Ajax deal

AFC Ajax have rewarded Dutch youth international midfielder Urby Emanuelson with a contract until 2008.
AFC Ajax have rewarded promising midfielder Urby Emanuelson with a new contract until June 2008.

On the up
The 19-year-old left-sided player's previous deal was due to expire next summer. Emanuelson made his first-team debut for Ajax in the UEFA Cup match against AJ Auxerre on 24 February, and has played five games since.

International recognition
The youngster is with the Netherlands Under-20 squad at the FIFA World Youth Championship being played on home soil. Two days ago, Emanuelson made the first goal and scored the second in a 3-0 group-stage victory against Australia.
