Konstantinou crosses great divide

Olympiacos CFP have signed the Cypriot international Michalis Konstantinou from local rivals Panathinaikos FC.

Leading scorer
The 27-year-old was released by Panathinaikos despite top-scoring for the Athens side last season with 15 goals in 30 league games. He now joins the Greek champions on a three-year contract.

Big-money signing
Panathinaikos paid €16m for Konstantinou's services when they signed him from Iraklis FC in the summer of 2001, and he repaid them with 34 goals in 94 Alpha Ethniki appearances. He makes the same journey as Greece goalkeeper Antonios Nikopolidis, who joined Olympiacos from Panathinaikos last summer.

Touré transfer
The Piraeus team have also completed the €1.2m transfer of Yaya Touré from Ukrainian club FC Metalurh Donetsk. The 22-year-old defensive midfield player, who is the younger brother of Arsenal FC's Kolo Touré, has agreed a three-year deal. Yaya Touré played 33 league matches for Metalurh following his switch from Belgium's KSK Beveren. Olympiacos have also signed Charilaos Pappas, Anastasios Kyriakos and Mihalis Kapsis this close season.
