Jun gun joins Trabzonspor

Czech Republic forward Tomáš Jun has joined Trabzonspor from AC Sparta Praha for a reported fee of around €3m.

Champions League challenge
Trabzonspor's new recruit will not be eligible for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie against Anorthosis Famagusta FC, in which they must overturn a surprising 3-1 deficit. Czech champions Sparta secured direct qualification to the group phase.

Hot-shot Jun
Jun top-scored for Sparta last season with 14 league goals, and hit the target in Champions League action against Lyon. He also registered his first international strike in a friendly against Slovenia in February.

Golden generation
He forms part of a talented generation of Czech youngsters that took silver at the 2000 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and won the 2002 UEFA European U21 Championship. National coach Karel Brückner has assured Jun that his move to Turkey will not affect his chances of selection.

Sparta call on Heinz?
Sparta coach Jaroslav Hřebík has already added FC Slovan Liberec striker Miroslav Slepicka to his squad, but is expected to bring in another new face, possibly VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach's Czech international Marek Heinz.
