Sparta make double striking swoop

AC Sparta Praha took their summer recruitment drive to nine players, signing Libor Došek and Zbyněk Pospěch.

Four-year contracts
Both players put pen to paper on four-year deals at the Toyota Arena today, but only Došek will take part in the Czech title-holders' forthcoming UEFA Champions League campaign.

Family ties
The 22-year-old Pospěch, who scored three goals in 19 games in his solitary season with Slovácko following a move from SFC Opava, has been loaned to Liberec as part of the Došek transfer. He will therefore have to wait to link up with his brother, defender Zdeněk Pospěch, whom Sparta brought to the capital from FC Baník Ostrava earlier this summer.

Farewell appearance
Došek, 27, struck seven goals in 27 matches for Liberec, and registered in his farewell appearance in Sunday's 4-2 season-opening success at FK Mladá Boleslav. He has yet to play for the Czech Republic but has been told that he is in national coach Karel Brückner's plans. Sparta recruited three other players from Liberec during the close season - Karol Kisel, Petr Lukáš and Miroslav Slepička.
